Little Miss Tessa Trust

Little Miss Tessa Trust
A fundraising campaign for a local toddler with cancer.

I was asked to help develop a website for a fundraising campaign to help a toddler access cancer treatment. I started with the Essence Pro theme from StudioPress and made a number of customisations.

The site is deliberately kept simple and the “Dontate” call-to-action is highlighted in the menu (like I did for the Community Awareness of Drugs site). I jazzed up the footer social icons with the ‘rotate on hover’ effect that I used on the AM Foran PR site.

The most noticeable customisation is to the header area. The logo is the full width and the hero image is not under the header and menu. This was done because the logo and menu partially hid the photo of Tessa and it is important that she is visible as visitors need to ‘connect’ with her. Similarly, the page title is on top of the hero image in the demo. This has been moved to be at the top of the content area so that Tessa’s photo is not obscured.

Sharing the campaign on social media is also very important so the AddToAny plugin is used to enable easy sharing of each page. The campaign’s social media feeds are also displayed on the home page.

I also created a number of email accounts and added them to a few Gmail accounts, referencing my recent post on using a domain email in Gmail.
