A number of small code snippets that I regularly use in Genesis based projects. I will maintain this as a useful reference for me (and others).
Most of my website development is on top of the Genesis framework. I like its speed and that it is customised with code rather than a huge options page. Here is a number of small code snippets that I regularly use. I will update it as I find or write code that will be useful in future projects.
Remove the Edit link
Remove the edit_post_link() link that is shown at the bottom of a post when the user is logged in. I find it distracting and this is the first bit of code I add to my theme or functional plugin.
Change footer credits
Change the footer credits from those that mention WordPress and Genesis to the current year and the site name (with a link to the home page).
The layout set in the dashboard can be overridden with code.
You can also set a particular layout unconditionally. These can be used in a template file where a template function, like is_page(), isn’t needed.
