A friend, a member of the Green Party, asked me to assist him with issues with (former) Senator Déirdre de Búrca’s blog.
The first issue was to fix an attack by hackers! The fix was simple (correct a few database entries) but, as the blog was set up somewhat strangely (files in one account and database in another, inaccessible, account), correcting these was awkward. I won’t bore you with further details but you can ask me if you are interested.
A short while later the blog was hacked again so I decided it was time to upgrade to the latest version of WordPress.
I was working with Ms de Búrca when she blogged her resignation from the Green Party Parliamentary Party and from Seanad Eireann. I used the WordPress for iPhone to moderate the comments for this post and subsequent popular follow up posts.
